Before you book

We are a small counter run by one chef. Please read these points before reserving — they are the things guests are most often surprised by.

We do not accept cash
Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, JCB, AMEX, Diners, UnionPay), transport IC cards (Suica and similar), and QR payments (PayPay and similar) only. Please do not plan to pay in cash.
Omakase only — you cannot choose dishes
There is no à la carte menu. The chef decides the course each morning based on what he was able to buy that day. We cannot promise any particular fish.
The meal takes about two hours
It will not run longer than two hours. If you have plans afterwards, please tell us when you book.
Nine seats, and English is limited
Six counter seats and one private room with three seats. The chef speaks very little English. We have an English card for the course and the drinks, so you will know what you are eating, but there is no interpreter and conversation will be simple. Guests who enjoy quiet, simple dining are most at home here.
Allergies and dislikes
Tell us when you book and we will replace those items. We cannot offer a fully vegetarian, vegan, or halal course.
Cancellation
Please cancel by the day before. Same-day cancellations and no-shows are charged 100% of the course price. We buy the fish for your seat on the morning of your reservation.

We are not able to prepare birthday plates or messages. Anniversary visits are very welcome — please just let us know when booking.

Still unsure about something? Send us a message on Instagram before you book. We reply in simple English.

About

One street off the main road, nine seats.

The chef buys whatever is at its best that day, so the course is never decided in advance. That is the whole reason we serve omakase and nothing else.

The rice is seasoned with shirozu — white rice vinegar. It is clean and lightly acidic, and steps back so the fish comes forward. If you prefer the darker, stronger red-vinegar style, this may taste restrained to you. We know opinions divide here, and we have kept to this style anyway.

The counter seats six. We kept it small so that each piece reaches you the moment it is formed. There are no rules of etiquette to worry about, and no dress code.

Questions

Common questions

Can I come alone?

Yes. Many guests dine alone at the counter.

Is there a dress code?

No. Please come as you are. We only ask you to avoid strong fragrance, as scent carries at the counter.

Can we book the private room?

There is one private room with three seats. Request it when you book. If more than one party asks for it, it goes to whoever booked first.

Can we come as a group?

The whole restaurant is nine seats. For parties of four or more, please contact us before booking.

Can children come?

Children who can eat the same course at the same pace as adults are welcome. Please include them in the party size.

Can I order more after the course?

If the fish is still there, yes. Ask the chef directly at the counter.

I am running late.

Please contact us as soon as you can. If we cannot reach you 15 minutes after your reservation time, the seat may be released and the cancellation charge applies.

Reading

If this is your first omakase

Three short guides. You do not need to read them to enjoy the meal, but they answer most of what guests ask us at the counter.
